Disney: Children sail for free on select Mexico cruises

Disney: Children sail for free on select Mexico cruises

Here’s an eye-popping offer, and another sign of troubled times for tourism to Mexico. Disney Cruise Line is letting kids sail for free on select cruises to Mexico next year. What makes this so unusual is that, unlike many lines, Disney’s target audiences are children and families.

Deal: The Kids Sail Free offer, as advertised on the Disney Cruise Line website, applies to children 17 years or under who travel with two full-fare passengers in the same cabin (categories 4 through 11 only) on certain seven-night Mexican Riviera cruises.

The cruises, aboard the Disney Wonder, are round trip from Los Angeles, with Mexico port calls in Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. Availability is limited; here’s the fine print on cancellations and other rules for Disney bookings. You must use the booking code “KFMR” at the time of booking.

When: Good for select cruises from Jan. 23 through March 20, 2011. Note: You must book by July 31.

Animators bring ‘World of Color show to life at Disney California Adventure

Animators bring ‘World of Color show to life at Disney California Adventure

The challenge for Disney and Pixar animators in creating the new “World of Color” water show at Disney California Adventure was making well-known characters and signature scenes seem fresh yet familiar.

In using 26 films (21 from Disney, five from Pixar) and more than 130,000 digital images, the animators drew from a deep catalog that stretched from 1937 (an animation short called “The Old Mill”) to 2009 (”Up” and “The Princess and the Frog”). The latter two films weren’t even in theaters when work began on “World of Color,” which will make its debut Friday.

All Inclusive Vacations – The Pros And Cons

@ ben-lang.com

There are many advantages of an all-inclusive vacation package. The buffet-style food gives you a huge choice in what you want to eat, is easily available and will allow you to sample different varieties of food you normally wouldn’t try. The service is always helpful and you will find many activities included in the package. The all-inclusive trip that we took included two tours of our choice as well as snorkeling and other water activities. Many sights have pools, tennis courts, or golf courses. These activities are free and part of the package.
