Brighton (England) Offers Something For Everyone

Brighton is the Great Britain place to be for shopping, the arts, and of course, anything on the beach. Britain’s famed seaside vacation venue is a great place to visit during any season. The beaches offer activities such as volleyball, surfing, sailing, skateboarding and, of course, sunbathing. Don’t forget to visit The Lanes to experience shopping at its finest in a quaint setting.

Brighton is famous for its pier, a standard feature of any British seaside town. In fact, there are two piers, but one is closed for repairs, having been pummeled for centuries by ocean storms. The remaining pier is known as the Brighton Pier and is crowded with arcades, restaurants, cafes, a roller-coaster and dodgems, as any good English pier should be. During the summer it plays host to a marvelous display of fireworks that are a real treat for seasonal visitors.

When visiting Brighton, one must pay a visit to The Royal Pavilion. Built for The Prince Regent, the future King George the IV, it was in use by The Royal Family until Victorian times. It boasts an Indian style and reflects other Asian cultures as well, principally Chinese. The building and decoration of The Royal Pavilion was a “no expense spared” project. To appreciate the building in all its splendor, plan a visit to walk around and enjoy it in person on your trip to Brighton.

If you have lots of energy and would like to get out into the bracing English seaside air, consider a walking tour. Seeing Brighton by foot is a great learning experience and you will undoubtedly find the history of Brighton and its nearby sister city, Hove, to be fascinating. Walking tours are guided and you will be treated to all sorts of interesting information about the history and landmarks of the towns. The guides can also share information about other things to see and do while in Brighton. If you prefer to travel by vehicle, consider a bus tour. The tours run throughout the day and operate on a daily ticket that allows you to get off when you see something interesting and then catch another bus to get to another location on the same ticket. This gives you the opportunity to spend as much time as you like at interesting sites along the route without purchasing more tickets. The buses will take you to all of the big tourist attractions as well as lots of interesting monuments and local landmarks. A bus tour really gives you the flavor of Brighton so consider scheduling one early in your visit.

Brighton (England) Travel Guide

The seaside town of Brighton offers something for everyone. Whether it is the atmosphere of a beach side town or the hustle and bustle of city life, Brighton has everything. Relax on the beach, watch sports, visit museums, art galleries and view fantastic traditional English architecture – all are possible in Brighton. Brighton is also easily accessible by car / bus, boat and train. Tourists from all over the United Kingdom have been traveling to Brighton for holidays for well over one hundred years due to its location and appeal. European tourists also have been coming to taste the flavors of the British south coast for a number of years.

Brighton (also now known as ‘London-by-the-sea’) is the archetypal British beach town, with everything that is expected in a town bearing the title: a grand pier, a beautiful (former) royal palace, theaters, concert halls, and probably the most important, a fantastic beach. Though it is much more than the sum of it’s parts, most people say it is the atmosphere that makes it so special. Brighton is certainly one of the most culturally diverse places in the United Kingdom and attracts people of all metaphorical shapes and sizes. Not only is Brighton popular with the younger generation due to it’s University and large number of bars and nightclubs, it is also popular with people who have visited with their parents fifty or sixty years ago or more and have returned every year since.

Brighton has been a family holiday destination since the mid-1800s when rail transport began to be accessible by the masses. There are so many things for young children to see and do, such as fairgrounds, shows, amusement arcades and other amenities. It is a perfect place for you to wear out your little scallywags! So you know what you want to do and where you want to go, but where will you stay? Accommodation in Brighton comes in all possible budget ranges. You can pay very little for a bed in one of the very clean hostels, or maybe you want to stretch to a 5 star resort, either and anything in between is available in Brighton. The best cheap seafront Brighton budget hotels are only an online search away, so do not forget to search before you travel!

So, to summarize, if you want to experience a charming, typically English, seaside resort, then look no further than Brighton. Having been there once, you will no doubt be a return visitor, just like the most of the millions of people who visit there each and every year. Who knows, you might even be tempted to make it make it your second home!

Top 6 Spas in Europe for 2010

If your idea of having the perfect getaway is touring the best spas all over Europe, youre not alone. But how can you visit all of them with so little time? Augustine Spa in Prague

Top 6 Spas in Europe for 2010

The Augustine Spa in Prague, Czech Republic, is a four-room spa and salon which takes residence in the Augustine monastery. While its tucked in the Gothic pillars of the building, its also an exceptional first-class spa redesigned by the master hotelier of U.K Rocco Forte.

The spa itself is a bit minimalist, sporting whitewashed walls, arched ceilings which are about a century old, and architecture that generally emanates the old world. The Augustine Spa draws a fine clientele of nobles from Central Europe, Hollywood celebrities, and even local moguls of real estate.

The spas best treatment is the 90-minute beer-based body rub. Have this with a full body massage and youll be rubbing all of your stress away. Other treatments include natural products made from Ila and Anika. The Augustine Spas director Dita Coufalova can also surprise you. Despite her diminutive size, she has the strongest pair of hands in Bohemia.

Aman Spa in Connaught, England

Top 6 Spas in Europe for 2010

Undeniably the best spa in London, England, you should not miss out on the Aman Spa at the Connaught. The spa has a total of five treatment rooms (one designed for couples), a gym, a pool with seductive dark tiles, and minimalist architecture by Jaya Patromo Ibrahim.

Combining the styling principles of Asia and England, Ibrahim used dove-gray Portland stones and pale, honey-tinged oak for the interior. The effect: a very spacious spa which is both luxurious and relaxing. If this isnt zen enough for you, we dont know what is.

The spa draws a classy, understated clientele, especially on weekends. We recommend their one-hour full body massage which includes a heavenly foot massage, submerged crystal treatment, and a head massage you wont have anywhere else.

The only downside here is that the pool cant be accessed by spa customers unless youre also a guest at the hotel. You can also use the pool if you pay the annual spa membership fee.

7 Best Night Bars around the Globe

Whether youre a globetrotter by passion or profession, you know that the best thing you can expect from any city is its nightlife. This is why weve gathered the best night clubs around the globe. If you land in any of these countries, dont forget to give their prime bars a try.

Bar Isabel in Argentina

7 Best Night Bars around the Globe

The two most talked-about bars in Argentina is the Bar Isabel located in Buenos Aires, within easy reach of those who are already in the capital.

If youre all for the glitz and the glamour, you might want to drop by this watering hole. Just make sure that youre dressed to kill as well. Chic and smart is the way to go here. The interior of the bar closely resembles its next door neighbor, the Casa Cruz, probably because both were designed by fun loving Chilean Juan Santa Cruz.

Here, youll be greeted by a 70s-inspired interior. With disco as the bars running theme, the lights on the banks of the ceiling pulsate to the beat of house music. While youre here, you would want to try out the Bamboo, which is dry sherry mixed with orange bitters and vermouth.

The Emerald Peacock in Australia

7 Best Night Bars around the Globe

In Melbourne, youll find the Emerald Peacock luring droves of night life cravers. This is probably because the bar is fashionable enough without being too “suity” . The adage “birds of the same feather” is expressed in the bar as well, as an avian mural welcomes loyal patrons before they reach the lounging area.

The rest of the bar has, as the name suggests, a peacock-themed wall paper right above the booths. Guests can enjoy Merbournes spectacular skyline while theyre cozying up in bar. However, most patrons really prefer most patrons go to after a hard days work. When youre at the Emerald Peacock, the first thing you should check is the Big Cocks page in their menu. Here, youll find an interesting line of drinks, including the Taj Iced Tea which is Bombay Sapphire mixed with lemon juice, tea, sugar, and crème de peche.

Decollete in China

7 Best Night Bars around the Globe

Adding sophistication where its least expected is the Decollete in China. This bar sits in a building which was formerly used as an electric and machinery plant in Beijing. It is the first real champagne bar in the capital ever since China outlawed sleaze bars. Now, gentlemen can only enter the bar with a lady. The Decollete attracts hoards of urban Beijing locals.

The bar is pretty perfect for dates as well. With the intimate interior, complete with candle lights and fancy tables, the bar has a certain Belle Epoque vibe. The walls are also intricately hand-painted with floral patterns and the room lined with plush, velvet banquettes.

If youre wondering what to order from their menu, the patrons favorite is Potion#5. This is a delicate mixture of gin, violet liqueur, house champagne and lemon.

Spas are not exempt from these strange new discoveries. Today, more and more small-time shops, including that parlor just around the block, are offering spa treatments to just about anyone who comes in. Therefore, spas need to differentiate themselves from these by creating more innovative ways of offering treatments. Gone are those simple facials and massages. Now, you may have to choose from dozens and dozens of different kinds of treatments. Targeting specific parts or certain problems, treatments are now more tailored to an individuals specific needs. Yet what is interesting is that many of these bizarre treatments actually have their roots from traditional ways and cultures. Many people wonder whether these treatments really have health benefits or not. Still, they will be fascinating to anyone.

Many people dream of riding those beautiful gondolas in Venice. After all, it is said to be the ultimate way to experience the beautiful city. But what if you could also get a massage while riding one? In modified gondolas, you will be treated to a 40-minute massage, as you pass through the Venetian Lagoon. You have your own gondolier who stirs the gondola, and if youre worried about privacy, the massage focuses on your face, feet, and upper body, ensuring that the lower part of your body is covered at all times. At Tunbridge Wells in England is the Med-Spa Clinic, offering a full body capsule strangely reminiscent of that tanning bed in the “Starship Enterprise.” Your body is blasted with LEDs or light-emitting diodes which give off deep heat. This will make you perspire a lot. Together with the mattress that vibrates-used to exercise your muscles, as well as super-oxygenated air-to speed your metabolism, it should help you lose weight. If youre claustrophobic, you might want to think this one over.

Reiki on Horseback in Wyoming

Strangest Spa Treatments in the World

Reiki is a Japanese practice which stems from the belief that healing energy that is passed from a practitioner to the client will promote a balanced spirit and body. The Japanese practitioner is a person, but Christina DiBartolo, owner of Rockin Heart Ranch, herself a certified Reiki Master, believes that it does not always have to be that way. For her, horses also carry an innate healing energy. In her ranch at Jackson, near Wyoming, you can experience this by riding a horse all by yourself or with the owner, guided by her to let you tap into that energy. The result is said to be a cure from emotional anxieties to physical aches.

Weirdest and Most Unique Vending Machines in the World

Young and old alike have been fascinated with vending machines. Like mini convenience stores, these are great when youre feeling quite hungry, and theres no store nearby. Just feed the machine a bill or some coins, press a button, and out comes your chosen snack.

You might find I interesting to know that the first vending machine actually dispensed holy water, of all things. Hero of Alexandria devised this coin-operated machine in the first century, and it was only followed during the nineteenth century, when postcards and gums were sold.

A snack isnt all there is nowadays, as more and more people are beginning to realize the convenience and advantages that this machine has to offer. If vending machines used to offer sodas and little packets of biscuits and chips, today, you might be a little surprised at whats being offered in these incredible machines. Japan tops the quirkiness factor when it comes to vending machines, dispensing underwear to noodles. The ever-famous Lobster Game, similar to those machines where you try to catch a stuffed toy through a crane, gives you fifteen seconds to catch a lobster. The US has copied it by creating their own Maine Lobster Game.

Gold Bars in Abu Dhabi, Bergamo, Frankfurt, and Moscow Airports

Weirdest and Most Unique Vending Machines in the World

Stuck in the airport with nothing to do? Try the Gold to Go vending machines. Whoever thought that buying a special gift for that special someone in your life is actually easy, dispensed from a vending machine? Think gold is too common? You can also buy South African Krugerrands, Canadian maple-leaf coins, and that one-hundred dollar, one-ounce Australian kangaroo coin. Naturally, the prices change, depending on real-time prices. A gram of gold bar wrapped in a beautiful gift box costs around fifty dollars.

Fresh Pizza in Italy

When in Italy, it is but natural to eat pizza. Lets Pizza machines make it easier for you to get this national specialty. It is actually quite natural that the country where pizza originated from would actually come up with vending machines of pizzas! (Or perhaps theyre just tired of serving too many pizzas to hungry tourists.) Found in some malls and airports, these machines can make a pizza from scratch in less than three minutes. You can choose your toppings by pressing a button, then peek into the window to see the mixing and kneading of dough, the adding of the toppings and finally, baking.

Live Lobsters in US

Fun and quirky, everyone wants to try this game-catch a lobster in less than fifteen seconds and its yours to bring home or have the restaurant prepare for you so you can eat it fresh. For only three dollars, you get to play (and possibly) eat! Scattered from Maine to California, many of these machines are located in Florida, at restaurants like Bubbas Roadhouse and Saloon, and Arizona Pizza Company.

Raw Eggs in Japan and California

Weirdest and Most Unique Vending Machines in the World

At Glaum Egg Ranch, for only three dollars you can get 24 free-range chickens, with a complimentary show performed by stuffed chickens (as in stuffed toys, not the real ones).
