Perus Machu Picchu site to reopen; rail service partly restored

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The ancient Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, a top tourist attraction in Peru, will reopen Thursday after being shut by landslides and flooding in January, officials said. But visitors will need to combine bus and train travel to get to the area because only part of the rail line has been restored. And authorities are discouraging hikers from using the Inca Trail because bridges may be unsafe.
