Advice On Visiting Spain – Locations Of The Best Beaches

Spain is a beautiful country that experiences a great deal of tourism, and much of it is due to the beach towns and resorts that are found in this beautiful country. The climate in Spain is continually mild, which explains the country’s popularity amongst those who arrive on holiday from northern European regions as well as other cooler climates around the world. Spain has some of the best beach towns and resorts anywhere, and they are the perfect places to relax.

On the coast of the Mediterranean Sea is the Salou municipality. Here you will find several beaches peppered with coves here and there. Because it enjoys a Mediterranean climate, Salou is great for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving all year long. Beaches aren’t the only attractions in Salou, as it is where Port Aventura is found. This theme park and resort provides roller coasters and other rides to those looking for a thrill. Here you will also find Fiesta Aventura, a nightly party presenting fireworks, and parades. Salou is well-known for its promenade which borders the coast and provides relaxing sightseeing.

Another municipality that is rife with sparkling beaches is Almuñécar, and with its mild winters and long summers, there is plenty to do on one of the numerous beaches found there. Puerta del Mar is the region’s most popular beach due its proximity to the shopping district and social hot spots. The coves here are especially attractive to scuba divers and snorkelers because of the rich sea life that finds a home in them. Some of them can only be reached by boat, adding a touch of the mysterious to the trip. The Aqua Tropic water park is located in Almuñécar, providing rides, hot tubs, and water slides to visitors.

Anyone who wants to visit one of Spain’s best beach towns needs to head to Barcelona. Named by National Geographic as the world’s best beach town, it possesses 2.8 miles of beaches, some of which were created when building were demolished to make way for the 1992 Summer Olympics. Lanzarote Holidays : Simply Irresistible Year Round

The winters here, its cold outside and the sun is struggling to get through the clouds, but if you fancy a bit of sun, sea and sand then why wait for the summer to come around? The island of Lanzarote welcomes tourists during all four seasons so why not indulge yourself?

Holidays in Lanzarote are hugely popular across a wide spread of demographics principally because they offer visitors the all round holiday experience with a range of excellent attractions as well as an incredible climate that delivers wonderful weather all year round.

In the current economic climate tourists are really looking for value for money and now that the pounds has recovered some ground against the euro Lanzarote compares very favourably with most other holiday destinations around the world.

Airfares are very reasonable and you’ll be able to find loads of flights to Lanzarote from many of the tour and travel companies. Accommodation is also reasonably priced as well for example there are thousands of Lanzarote villas and apartments available for rent across the island so choosing one should not be a problem. Last but not least Lanzarote and the Canary Islands are a duty free zone, so shopping and souvenirs are much cheaper to buy here too.

It´s highly unlikely that your holiday in Lanzarote will be washed out by the weather as the sun shines here virtually very day of the year and rainfall is scarce. This is thanks to the islands location close to the West African coast so visitors can expect to soak up temperatures in the mid 20s in winter and into the mid 30´s Celsius during the summer months.

Lanzarote is a real beach lover’s paradise. There are close to 100 great beaches to explore and nearly all of them boast golden sands rather than the black grains prevalent elsewhere in the Canaries on islands including neighbours such as Tenerife. There are also of course some superb stretches of sands in all of the three main resorts on the island. You´ll need to book Lanzarote car hire to get to the best ones and to explore the most dramatic spots yourself – such as Famara on the North West coast.

Simply lying around (even in the nice warm sun) is not everyone’s cup of tea though, and if you fall into this category then you´ll be delighted to hear that Lanzarote has a lot more to offer visitors that want to experience anything else the island has to offer. There´s a number of fascinating sights to explore here – such as the islands surreal volcanic region which was created by eruptions in the 1730´s. This whole area is now one of the most popular National Parks in Spain and should not be missed. And if that isn’t sufficiently stimulating then take in the many works of the well known local artist César Manrique, who worked with this surreal terrain to create a series of seven unique visitor attractions such as the Jameos del Agua and the Mirador Del Rio.

Book your next holiday and you won’t be disappointed.

Holidays In Spain

For warm weather, culture and a lively varied holiday, you can’t beat Spain. Popular for many years as a tourist destination, Spain sometimes gets bad press for its more over populated resorts, however there are lots of great resorts you can visit in Spain where you can have a lively fun holiday, whether you are traveling as a family, a couple or with friends.

Salou in the Costa Dorada is a great destination for families and is usually an inexpensive choice. There are two sandy beaches here and the crystal clear shallow waters are perfect for toddlers and younger children. Salou does get very busy in the summer so it’s not the place to choose if you prefer a quieter resort however the resort has a cosmopolitan feel with a good mix of tourists from all over Europe. Salou is particularly popular with French holidaymakers and makes a great choice for a reasonably priced family getaway.

Sitges is a bohemian resort that is popular with gay travelers – however the resort is also a friendly place for all kinds of traveler including families. There are sandy beaches and clear seas here combined with a bustling and vibrant nightlife plus a great range of bars and restaurants to choose from. Sitges is home to an annual horror film festival and also a carnival – the old town is home to the Cau Ferrat museum which houses amongst other works of art several el Greco’s and a Picasso. Popular with the young, the fashionable and the artsy – Sitges is a unique one-of-a-kind holiday destination.

For a quiet and traditional Spanish family getaway Tamariu on the Costa Brava is the perfect choice. This quiet resort has sandy beaches and shallow waters that are perfect for families with young children. This is not the resort for you if you prefer the louder, busier resorts but is a great choice for those who want to experience a traditional Spanish fishing village resort. During the summer months Tamariu does become busier and open air seafront Catalan dancing takes place on Saturday evenings throughout July and August.

Sanlúcar de Barrameda is a small city in the Cadiz province in Andalucía. It is a popular destination for tourists and is famous for its cuisine, particularly its seafood and sherry that is called manzanilla. This seaside town is also well known for its beach horse races that take place in the evenings throughout August. This resort manages to combine beach life with culture, an historic old town and lots of seafood restaurants where you can try out the catch of the day and soak up the ambience.

Marbella is often described as Spain’s St Tropez and certainly the rich and fashionable seem to flock here in their droves. Marbella’s newer area has everything you would expect from a destination such as this; high-class restaurants, five star hotels, shopping opportunities and a cool night scene where you can dance all night if that’s what you want. However the old town maintains that unique Spanish charm with an array of historic and traditional buildings, independent shops and bijou bistros. One’s thing for sure you won’t get bored here!

What To Leave Behind At A Villa In Spain

A recent report from Travelodge that 75,000 teddy bears had been left behind over the course of a year caught our attention. 75,000 teddy bears. In a single year. At just one hotel chain.

Have you ever left anything behind at a hotel, motel, villa rental, campsite, bed and breakfast? If so, what?

To find out more, we asked someone who coordinates the rentals for a selection of villas in Costa Brava, and asked her what people most frequently leave behind when they vacate their villas.

FOOD and DRINK

Many people buy lots of food and drink to enjoy while they stay in the villas, but they don’t always estimate correctly the exact number of crumbs and drops they need. So there are left-overs, and very often there are a lot of left-overs (more than just a few crumbs or drops).Everybody eats. Everybody drinks. Everybody stocks the fridge. Some people simply have eyes bigger than their stomachs. At the end of their vacation, left-overs are left over.

Due to the pure weight, and sometimes the size, of the left-overs, it is not always possible to bring the extra food and drink with them. So they leave them behind in their villas in Costa Blanca …which can make a very nice tip for the cleaning staff.

TOWELS and CLOTHING

When you think of packing, what comes to mind? Clothing. So it stands to reason that there is plenty of clothing on any trip to leave behind. Socks, underwear and…and… all sorts of stuff.

It is so easy to forget a towel hanging in the bathroom. Or a dress or shirt or pants hanging in the closet of behind a door. Even a hot or scarf or something on a table or on the counter. Occasionally, someone will even leave behind something a little more special – a tux or an evening gown.

DIGITAL CAMERAS

One of the sadder things to forget in your villa is your camera – filled with your vacation memories.. Unfortunately, cameras are easy to lose. They are small, and we tend to keep them handy rather than packing them away. So if something gets left on the coffee table or the kitchen county, there’s a good chance it will be a camera.

Majorca – A Short Guide For Tourists

Majorca, the biggest island of the Balearic archipelago in the Mediterranean sea, has become an increasingly popular tourist destination in the past forty years. The English and Germans are mainly responsible for creating the island’s growth as a tourist spot. With the hot summers and wild winters typical of the Mediterranean, there is a variety of accommodation, restaurants, and bars to make your stay a welcomed retreat on the island (which is sometimes also spelled Mallorca from the Catalan and Spanish influence).

The capital of Majorca is Palma, located on the island’s western coast. The international airport, Son Satin Joan Airport, is situated just eight kilometers from the capital. If flying from the United Kingdom, the flight is just over two hours. A large percentage of the locals speak English due to the island’s status as a tourist destination, though the official languages are Spanish and Catalan.

Majorca is extremely diverse, offering a different experience no matter which corner of the island you are visiting. Try to give yourself as much time as possible to discover the great variety to be explored. The East abounds with amazing beaches and caves; the North East is home to a great deal of the island’s history; the North West is full of sleepy villages and scenic mountain views; the South boasts the tourist hub of hotels and other accommodations. If you only have a week on this beautiful island, renting a car would be a good investment. It will allow you to see as much of the island as possible – from its peaceful mountains to the beautiful beaches.

There is an abundance of other activities to enjoy beyond the typical tourist attraction, sunbathing, or clubbing found in resort areas. For the adventurous type, there are water sports, golf, walking, excursions by train, and biking opportunities. There are also a variety of spectator sports to enjoy, from football and cricket to horse racing. If the artistic scene is more your flavor, there is typically some type of Carnival or Fiesta happening, in addition to the local craft, food, and art markets that can be found within the villages themselves.
